Ibuprofen Jet Mill Grinding Production Line in Moscow

Jet Mill MQW10 FOR API (1)

A leading pharmaceutical manufacturer based in Moscow, Russia, faced challenges in Ibuprofen grinding—a heat-sensitive Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API). The goal was to achieve a consistent particle size distribution (PSD) with D97 ≤ 10μm while maintaining a high throughput of 120 kg/h to meet growing domestic and regional demand.

The Moscow-based production team identified three key hurdles: Ibuprofen has a low melting point (~75°C). Previous milling methods caused overheating, leading to material sticking, screen blockage, and inconsistent product quality. To ensure uniform dissolution and tablet efficacy, the client required a tight PSD with D97 fixed at 10μm. Existing equipment could not sustainably achieve outputs beyond 80 kg/h, creating a bottleneck in their production line.

After an on-site assessment and material testing, Epic Powder recommended the MQW10 Fluidized Bed Jet Mill. It’s customized for pharmaceutical GMP compliance. The jet mill uses compressed air expansion to generate particle-on-particle impact. It can keep temperatures low and preventing melting or degradation of Ibuprofen. A built-in sınıflandırıcı ensures continuous recycling of oversize particles, allowing only those under 10μm to pass through—resulting in a narrow, consistent PSD. Fully polished surfaces, easy-clean construction, and validated cleaning protocols met Russian and international pharmaceutical standards.

Post-installation at the Moscow facility, the MQW10 delivered immediate Ibuprofen grinding improvements. The successful implementation of the MQW10 in Moscow demonstrates Destansı Toz’s ability to provide reliable, high-performance milling solutions for heat-sensitive APIs—even in demanding production environments. By combining precision particle control with high throughput, the client enhanced product consistency and scaled production efficiently.
